Overview

Experience nature by bike on the professional-class tracks and trails in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.

Explore the Dandenong Ranges on two wheels

Get mud on your mountain bike at Lysterfield Lake, the site of the 2006 Commonwealth Games mountain biking event. Traverse the 20 kilometres of trails catering for riders of all ability, with steep and technical sections of trail through rocky landscape for the experienced riders, and trails around the lake and parkland perfect for families.

Hit the highway for some challenging road cycling climbs, including the '1 in 20' on the Mountain Highway, the steep 'Wall' between Monbulk and Olinda, and the 'Devil's Elbow' between Upper Ferntree Gully and Ferny Creek.

Cycling the Yarra Valley

Weave through farmland and bush from Lilydale, past Yarra Junction to Warburton on the Warburton Rail Trail. Cycle the old rail line built in 1901 to carry produce from Warburton to Melbourne, stopping at country pubs and historic sites.

You know cyclists are serious when they depart Healesville for the 5,330-kilometre Bicentennial National Trail ride through Australian bush, wilderness and mountain areas all the way to Cooktown, Queensland.
